SOLVE Neighborhood Cleanups
SWCR knows how important it is to the members of our community to keep the South Waterfront neighborhood clean and green. Trash on the sidewalk isn’t only an eyesore, but plastic contents eaten by animals can be harmful and can even have lethal effects.
One of the most impactful ways to help keep our neighborhood clean is through hosting SOLVE Cleanups. SOLVE is a non-profit organization whose mission is to “bring Oregonians together to improve our environment and build a legacy of stewardship.”
In 2023 alone, SWCR SOLVE Cleanups:
· Recruited over 100 volunteers
· Collected over 900pounds of trash
· Contributed approximately 1000hours of service to the South Waterfront neighborhood
Knowing about upcoming events
Upcoming SOLVE events will be posted in SWCR’s monthly and weekly newsletters.
SWCR also needs your help to make this socially-distant event as safe and as successful as possible. Please do so by following these Volunteer Safety Guidelines:
Stay home if you, or someone you have been in contact with, feels unhealthy and shows symptoms of COVID-19.
Wear a mask if you would like and gloves.
BYO-Bring your own supplies such as gloves and water. SWCR will have trash bags available for you.
Wash your hands before and after the event.
Though we will all be six feet apart, we look forward to working together with you to help keep our community clean and green!
