Portland Streetcar

Restaurants, shops, and entertainment throughout downtown Portland are easily accessible via the Portland streetcar. The streetcar travels along a 7.5-mile loop through the PSU campus, past the Portland Art Museum, through downtown performing art venues and galleries in the Pearl District, and by the shops and restaurants of Northwest 23rd. It also connects to the downtown transit mall for travel to NE Portland, Beaverton, Hillsboro and the airport. There are three stops in South Waterfront, one of which is right across from the tram landing. Residents will receive a free one-year pass.

Hours: Mon-Thur 5:30am-11:30pm, Fri 5:30am-11:45pm, Sat 7:15am-11:45pm, Sun 7:15am-10:30pm

Bike Portland

August 27, 2007

If you know of a better place for biking, I’d like to know about it. One of the best things about Portalnd is it’s love of cycling, whethet it’s on the road, in the mud, or just plain old rolling around town. As you’d expect there are a number of awesome shops in the area. I’ve had a lot of luck with the Bike Gallery, but if you’re looking for a more independent feel, I’ve heard Gateway Bicycle on 119th and Halsey is a well-informed and personal experience. Any other recommendations for stores, routes, or brands should be posted here.
